Jen Hyacinthe is a first-generation college student from Haiti pursuing a degree in Communications from the University of Louisville with a focus on social media management. She is highly passionate about content creation, website design, and mentoring the next generation of college students. This past year, Jen worked as a summer academic counselor for a small nonprofit in the Louisville area; she also participated in panels targeted towards first-generation and minority college students to share resources and her experiences in college. With a love of serving her community, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first black greek letter sorority.
Jen manages the social media channels for Fleur de Lis Communications and various other clients, but when she isn’t mentoring or working, she is creating content for her personal social media channels. Being a college content creator has provided her the opportunity to work on social media campaigns for various brands including Burt’s Bees and has allowed her to help promote the launch of Facebook Campus through Whalar, an Influencer marketing agency. Jen has an appreciation for social media because it lets her connect with audiences in and far outside of her hometown.
